The โ€œLumberjack 20?

On Nov. 5 at 1:34 p.m., a terrorist named Major Nidal Hasan attacked fellow soldiers and civilians at Fort Hood, Texas. When the shooting ended, he had killed 12 soldiers and one civilian and wounded 43 others.

Spc. Frederick Greene, 29, of Mountain City, Tennessee, Pfc. Aaron Thomas Nemelka, 19, of West Jordan, Utah, Pfc. Michael Pearson, 22, of Bolingbrook, Illinois, and Spc. Kham Xiong, 23, of St. Paul, Minnesota, along with eleven of the wounded were active CrossFitters in the 20th Engineer Battalion, home to Lumberjack CrossFit.

This workout is in honor of these soldiers, one month after the murderous rampage. We are asking the CrossFit community to make donations in honor of these soldiers at cflumberjack.org.

The Rx’d run distance is 400 m but we have a 500 meter loop sooooo…..

20 Deadlifts (275lbs)
Run 500m
20 KB swings (2pood)
Run 500m
20 Overhead Squats (115lbs)
Run 500m
20 Burpees
Run 500m
20 Pullups (Chest to Bar)
Run 500m
20 Box jumps (24?)

20 DB Squat Cleans (45lbs each)

    Time: 29:31

    I tried, and failed, to prevent Wayne from catching up to me! He started after me and finished 1-2 seconds before me! Nice job! It hurt me to watch you get through the door first at the end of that last run ๐Ÿ˜€

    Now, on to the scales:
    Deadlifts @ 185 lbs
    Kettlebell @ 45 lbs……50 & 70 were taken, not that I’d use the 70….yet
    Overhead Squats @ 95 lbs
    Burpees are burpees
    First time doing C2B pullups….tough!
    24″ Box
    Squat Cleans @ 95 lbs (barbell)

  3. Uh oh, sounds like there’s more competition creeping up for the 70 pounder!! Time to splurge!

    We could have a new WOD, the 70lb kb challenge….10 minutes for reps.

    I did this in 26:01 but probably disqualified myself when I punched 6 people for blowing smoke in my face at the bus stop. Darn smokers!!!

    Time: I can’t remember if it was 32:’something’ or 33:’something’! my brain was mush!

    I actually found the running part enjoyable, it was a nice break for me between workouts!

    Now, on to the scales:

    Overhead Squats @ 45 lbs
    Burpees are burpees
    24? Box
    Squat Cleans @ 75 lbs

  7. 27:56. I agree with Jon about the darn bus stop smokers. Maybe those punches will teach them to keep it to themselves the next time.
