  6. Huge Saturday crowd today – glad to see so many people make it in this weekend! I makes these WODs way more fun when there are so many more people to compete against and cheer on!

    The new folks that showed up for the 10am session did awesome – hope to see you all come back!

    Now, on to today’s monster:
    Strength to Start
    1R @ 90% Deadlift….bad day to do DL strength 😀
    Warmup: 95 x 5, 135 x 5, 175 x 5, 215 x 3, 255 x 2
    Work: 285 x 1

    WOD Details:
    Had to scale this (we all did) for various reasons.
    Scale today (scale April 6th, 2010 in brackets)

    Deadlifts @ 185 lbs (185 lbs)
    Kettlebell @ 50lbs/American Swing (45lbs/Russian Swing)
    Overhead Squats @ 35lb-plate (95lbs barbell)
    Pullups Chin Over Bar Kips (C2B Kips)
    Box Jumps @ ‘The Two Tires’ (24? Box)
    Squat Cleans @ 65lbs (95lbs)

    Time: 26:26 (29:31) … 3 minute improvement

    Harder KB swings this time, easier(?) OHS, easier pullups, harder box jumps, and easier squat cleans. Unsure if this is an improvement or not, but it felt like it during the WOD!

    Definitely felt the vomit coming a few times! 25:11 with serious scaling on the run, among others.

  8. So first off I have to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who was at the work out today. You were all so supportive and helpful, especially on those Med ball cleans and the last run. I couldn’t have done it without you!

    Time was around 36 something I think… heavily modified of course! I’ll post details later!

  9. couldn’t make it in today bc of work! But I did manage a lil cardio workout in! 1 min sprints on the treadmil at 9 mph and the stepper at max and the bike at 120 rpm ! Stretched b4 and after ! Did 30 sprints all together

  11. I love how you’re bragging about almost vomiting, Liz. Where else can you see that? Nowhere, but Crossfit.

    Scale:
    Deadlifts – 185 lbs
    Kettlebell – 45lbs. brought overhead
    Overhead Squats – 45lb-bar the plate felt so strange, would have even gone up to 95lb. bar if it meant getting out of the plate variety)
    Pullups – 20 unbroken (not a scale, but a personal victory)
    Box Jumps à la “The Two Tires”
    Squat Cleans – subbed for Power Cleans – 95lbs

    Loved working out with you all today. I’m already missing CFSJ. Thanks again to Mike for letting me hop in to an already full class.

    In case if anyone was interested, SportsChek on the Eastside has some Lacrosse balls for sale. Only 3 sets of 2 balls left (their sold in pairs). Cost $8. Have found it difficult to find them. Sharing, incase anyone has been searching too.

    • Of course they go on sale after we pick some up. We bought two pair for the gym but should go get the rest.

    185lbs DL
    50lbs kb swings
    35lbs plate for ohs for 8 reps, switched to 75lbs with the bar for the rest
    Burpees suck
    Tire jumps
    75lbs squat cleans

  13. Oh and kipping pullups of course. Great job to all that were there this morning , everybody done in less than 40 minutes? That’s ridiculous and awesome!
