Some testimonials to share with you

Here is some feedback from people who have or are currently participating in CrossFit:

I had to share this story.

Jen signed me up for the Hampton 5 miler (8K) on Sunday.  I have not been running all summer.  Total, I have run 5K about 5 times since May.  I have done no running since Aug 13th and only played Frisbee 2 or 3 times since then.

So we show up to the race. Unpack the car and stroller.  BTW, I am suppose to take Olivia out for the run.  We have a stroller, which I have never used myself, to push Olivia in during the race.  I get to the very back of the pack to start the race.  I am literally the last one to cross the start line.  This was a mistake because I had to navigate around a bunch of walkers for the first half mile.  After the first kilometer, I decided to push and see what happened.  So Olivia and I start passing people.  We are passing them going up hills and we are passing them going down hills.  Due to the width of the stroller, we can not stop for water at the water stops for fear in tripping up another runner.  We come across the line in 40:46.   The last time I this race in 2004 it took me 43:09.  Even when I was running a fair bit last year, I was running around 4:50/kms.  I ran 5:05/kms while pushing Olivia and burning time navigating people the first km.  I was impressed with the effort and it done purely on Crossfit training

“I started incorporating Crossfit workouts into my routine after hearing about them from Mike Jackson in Oct 2008.  I have been an athlete my whole life, playing many sports, and workout 5 times a week.  I have never felt conventional gym workouts have produced the results I’ve always sought; namely increased strength and endurance for the sports that I play.

After including Crossfit into my exercise program, I have noticed considerable strength improvements.  I like that most Crossfit workouts do not include a dependence on equipment that inhibit your range of motion.  Crossfit incorporates body movements that use your own body weight as resistance.   My body has improved in longer, leaner, stronger muscle mass, while burning extra fat.

I’m a father of two children, work full time, am studying for my Masters, and am the Executive Director for Saint John Ultimate Frisbee.  Time is critical for me to get in my exercise.  Crossfit workout times roughly range from 15-25 minutes, which works perfectly into my schedule.

I have worked out with people from all athletic abilities, and know it works for everyone.

I fully endorse Crossfit as an effective and convenient workout program.  I have no doubt that Mike Jackson and Amy Wilkins will have great success as Crossfit trainers, and wish them the best of luck in establishing Crossfit Saint John.”

“well.. we decided to do it without a trainer.. and all i can say is without one you loose the proper form and the push to make you go extreme.. missed you jackson.. however i kept up with guys literally half my age and grunted and groaned through it. thanks scotty for the motivation and workout. it was a tough one but well worth it. this is the bomb.. if you have guts you will gain glory…”

“Hey Mike,I would like to say first that I am very pleased with both workouts. It makes me remember why I loved the gym one time. After only two workouts I feel like a new person. I like the amount of instruction …not too much, not too little. Also, it always motivates me to see fit people which you and Amy both are.”
