WATCH: Frog Tuck with Jeff Tucker, CrossFit Journal

  1. That video is the best I’ve seen yet regarding the Frog Stand and the straight-arm progression. The main things I took away from it were:

    Turn your hands out
    We all complain about lack of wrist flexibility and this will help. As your wrist flexibility improves, you can start moving them more forward. The last time I tried Frog Stands for just 5 minutes my wrists were screaming so I was a little nervous about three times as much. Now, not so much.

    Pair off
    The spotting of this movement is crucial so we can keep our teeth. No one is going to be doing a Frog Stand consistently for 15 minutes so if we pair off and have one person do some attempts, the other one can spot, then switch off.

    Hyper-extended Elbows
    There were some interesting subtle tips (near the end of the video) on dealing with people that have naturally hyperextended elbows and how to [a] strengthen them and [b] deal with it specifically during Frog Stands. Great stuff!!

    Frogstands are awesome too, chalk it up as a skill with a lot of value!

  7. WOD 10:54,my calves are still hurting from skipping the other night!! shovelling last night didn’t help at all either…. lol

    • Did this one with the 6pm crew watching and counting.
      7:45 rx’d. The K2E killed me.
