  6. I don’t normally post on the site but I thought I would share an excerpt from a book I’ve been reading called “The Book of Awesome” which I feel applies to Crossfit. As an aside I didn’t make it today (Friday) at lunch because I was so sore from the past 4 days. This excerpt accurately captures how I feel today and why Gym Pain is AWESOME:

    “Gym Pain”
    It was intense.
By the end, I was a Jello-blob of hot muscles and shin splints. I felt like I’d fallen down a hundred flights of stairs and landed on a cactus patch. I was in pain and agony … but you know what?
    It felt good.
I felt like I made it. I felt like I did something. There was a tingling buzz of satisfaction burning in my shredded quads, a lingering ache of pride in the dirtbike tracks riding up my stomach for three days, and a quiet happiness with the pain I’d inflicted upon myself.
When you reach up higher than you’ve reached before, give a little more than you gave before, or dig deep to your core to end up sprained and sore, well around here we say that’s a little something called
    AWESOME!

  7. well put Alexis!! what a great quote

  8. That is awesome…and the attitude of our community is awesome…so supportive…so motivating and intense…I’m proud to say that I’m a part of it.

  9. Greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeg! I’ve found a website that is doing a lot of scientific and statistical analysis of the games WODs and their predictability of performance based on gender and weight category.
