What’s all the buzz about??

This post is for the newer members and those who have wanted to take their training to the next level.

WARNING: you are about to hear a lot of talk in the gym about “the Open” and “the Games” and random athlete names that may leave you wondering who these people are.

What you need to know is this. You are a part of a large community spanning the world. It is a fantastic community of like minded people who take their fitness seriously and challenge their thresholds daily. They will not settle for mediocre fitness regimes. This mentality has grown into a competitive one where people wanted to gather and compete against one another to test their fitness and skills. This has grown over the past 6 years to a point where 138,000 people registered for an online competition, orchestrated by CrossFit HQ, and titled The Open.

Starting on Feb 27th, there will be a WOD posted on a specific website for all to see. Registered competitors will take their best shot at this WOD hoping to get a score that will rank them high enough to advance to further competition. This will continue for 5 weeks. Many register and compete to be a part of something bigger than themselves and bigger than their own affiliate. It is truly fantastic to see your name and find your score and rank listed In a global competition. It’s intimidating at first but when you are doing it, you are happy you didn’t miss out.

At our facility, we have a number of athletes who not only train to be fit, but train to increase their work capacity for competitions. You may have noticed a small group of people training on the other side doing something different from what you are doing. If you are curious to know more and perhaps wish to do the same, talk to us and we can help you figure out if it’s best for you or not. The Open is for every one.

So if you are new, or newly invested at our facility, ask questions, read the articles that will be posted on our website and Facebook page. This info is for you and your development.
