Terminology

What are they talking about?

You may have heard or read some very strange terminology in references to CrossFitting.  Have no fear, here’s a quick break down for you.  For more visit http://www.crossfit.com/cf-info/faq.html.

WOD

Workout of the Day.  It’s the prescribed workout, which is scaled to your needs.

AMRAP

As Many Rounds As Possible.  This is normally a combination of reps for certain exercises, to be completed over and over until the given time expires.

Rx’d

As Prescribed.  A WOD that was completed without making modifications or scaling.

FT

For Time.  A given combination of reps for exercises that must be completed as quickly as possible.  Keep your form!

Hopper

CrossFit is a bigger community than just your local gym.  A Hopper is an invite from one gym to neighboring local gyms to come workout with them for a day.

The Games

For those taking CrossFit competitively, CrossFit holds competitions so you can be ranked based on your scores from workouts.
